At this year’s Milan design week - Ploom launched the brand new Limited Edition Ploom X RED created in collaboration with the designer Ora ïto.

The main highlights of the week included launching our immersive ‘RED experience’ – created to celebrate and embody the collaboration between Ploom and Ora ïto – and the creation of the Ploom Special Edition Red collection. The RED experience was a feast for the senses, with red themed decor, food and drinks. We held a press conference, shared ideas and values and hosted Ploom parties with thematic aperitifs, food and a live DJ. It was an experience that truly stirred the senses, with visitors indulging a range of sensual pleasures, from sights, sounds, tastes and skin tingling moments of surprise and delight, including the Ploom Special Edition Red launch and meeting our design collaborator Ora ïto in the flesh.
Our collaboration with Ora ïto:
Ora ïto is a world-renowned French designer, lauded for his disruptive approach to design. Known for challenging traditional boundaries and redefining existing views of the world through his unique vision, incorporating his own interpretations of simplicity and futurism with a strong focus on user experience.
The collaboration is born of a deeply shared belief that the integration of new technological possibilities, intuitive design principles and the most innovative materials can give rise to state-of-the-art – yet beautifully simple – design solutions.

The fruit of our collaboration is the Ploom Special Edition Red Collection – consisting of the Ploom Special Edition Red device, plus carry cases, a sling bag and other accessories.
During the week Ora ïto explained the philosophy that guided his work. He discussed his design choices, including the glossy red finish and the range of vibrant red accessories. It’s about design that makes people feel something. In fact, there’s more to red than meets the eye, as Ora ïto explained:
"Red is a highly symbolic color, with a strong visual impact. Just place a single red object in an empty room, and you'll immediately feel its unique energy. Red has many interpretations: for some, it represents love, for others, it's a bold and intense color. Red symbolizes our love for bold and passionate products and brings our senses to life."
The RED Experience
Our immersive installation: The RED Experience: was created to celebrate the launch of the exclusive Limited Edition Ploom X Red, produced in collaboration with Ora ïto.
Ploom and Ora ïto wanted to create a product that evokes sensations and emotions. At Milan Design Week this shared ethos came to life with the RED experience, where people were taken on a journey into the innovative world of Ploom, guided by Ora ïto’s style and imagination - a synergy between modernity and timeless design.
From lifestyle elements to discovering a new and exciting product, visitors experienced new sensory peaks thanks to a highly curated design environment, featuring interactive screens. The iconic red added to the flair of the event and formed a continuity that led visitors from room to room.
The device/accessory product launch
The centerpiece of the RED experience was the launch of our exclusive Limited Edition Ploom X Red device which combines authenticity, cutting-edge technology, and premium style inspired by Ora ïto’s famed concept of "Simplexity," making the complex simple.
With the unveiling of the device and accessories by Ora ïto himself. The addition of music, themed food and drinks and a design space as glossy, sleek and modern as the Ploom Special Edition Red itself created a dazzlingly red immersive environment, built to enliven the senses.

Ploom’s Milan design week debut formed a vibrant sensory experience to delight the senses. Both visitors and hosts enjoyed an inspiring week soaked in the creative mood and visual flair of Ploom and Ora ïto and, like the moment when the sun momentarily leaves a mark on our vision, people left our immersive sensory experience seeing and feeling red.
